Ridiculous but good.

My friends are silly, and sometimes a little bit space cadet if you know what I mean, but they're AWESOME and I LOVE them. Cue photobooth pictures and Chanel fw09-esque H&M dress (and other H&M dresses).

We went to the mall today at 4pm to pick up birthday gifts for my friend's birthday tomorrow (awesome gifts, btw!) and we HAD to stop at H&M. We had a really good time, and stayed until 8:30pm. We saw and talked to a lot of people (and made new friends!). Iwa - it was awesome. :)

now I just need a yellow brick road.

I FOUND MY CAMERA. Unfortunately, I accidentally wiped all the files, so I have none of my old pictures but, life sucks, what are you gonna do right?

FYI: Those shoes will be a DIY on Friday after school.
I know it's easy, but decipher THIS Halloween costume.

Also, I have mastered self French braiding. It's quite convenient!

leaving the world better then we find it - dolphin edition

Please read!

So you will soon realize this blog is not just a fashion blog, and I am a very globally aware person. This will be the first of many posts to come regarding world issues such as hunger, medical aid, animal protection, etc.

I just got home from seeing an AMAZING film at my city's Film Festival called "
The Cove". IT is about the dolphin slaughter in Japan, where 23 000 dolphins are getting killed each year, and (only some) of the meat is used as meat for people to eat. The problem, in addition to the useless slaughter, is that the meat contains extremely high levels of mercury, and that it is often advertised as other meat but isn't. These fishermen are making a lot of money from this slaughter. They capture the dolphins, and some are chosen to be sent to live in captivity in places such as Marineland, Sea World, but as said, the rest are murdered. A man named Richard O'Barry is trying to put a stop to this.

It is all based in this town of
Taiji, Japan. The rest of Japan, let alone the whole world, have no idea this is happening, honestly. O'Barry and his team are putting the word out there, speaking out against it.

For more information visit the
Sea Sheppard website or The Take Part: The Cove website or Save Japan Dolphins website.

I understand if this isn't your cause, but I highly encourage you to watch the
trailer. I also think it's important you find a cause. Tavi has done so with her Darfur stuff, and I've been doing poverty-related things with school for a few years now with my school. Even if you don't have money to put out, you can still volunteer your time.

That's all for tonight, loves. <3

And I try, and I try, and I try, oh I try, I can't get no satisfaction!

I made a video, finished & editted it. I didn't get a chance to put it on vimeo or youtube or something yet though, so I
couldn't post it :(((((((

i hate you but i love you but i hate that i love you.

I don't like this picture.

I've had so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, (not even hyperbolizing, if that's a word) homework latetly. I have to do some right after this. I can't believe how much work I've got! But oh well. Today I needed something that I could change really quickly in, et viola! I was wearing my I <3 NY shirt underneath, but this was taken after volleyball at school outside my house, and I kept my volleyball shirt on. I straightened my hair today, but it didn't stay completely straight. It never does, I shouldn't be surprised.

The weather today was surprisingly really nice. Sunny but cool, it's was niiiiice. (Oh yay multiple iiiiiiiii's look trippy :D).

Where The Wild Things Are movie poster, much? Minus the van in the background.

Useless writing, blah blah, I found this these three amazing products at Bath and Body Works the other day - a "rainkissed leaves" perfume, a pomagrante perfume (SERIOUSLY THE BEST EVER), and this orange peel hand cream that immediately wakes you up. I didn't buy any of it, but I would have if I had more money D:.

SPEAKING OF REGRETS, a month or so ago, when I went to Kensington Market in Toronto, I saw this GORGEOUS beige leather duffel bag, old but in good condition, with a map of Paris on it. It wasn't even expensive! I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I DIDN'T BUY IT AND I SWEAR I THINK ABOUT THAT BAG EVERY SINGLE DAY. I must track it down.

I don't even know what I'm doing in this photo; or what I'm looking at.
I'm considering doing a video post soon. Veronica from Raspberry and Red posted one recently, and I loove love looove making videos. Stay tuned.

Also, I've got a 16gb black iPod Touch for sale, only a few months old, for sale. E-mail me if you are interested or have any questions about it!

FREE HUGS.

inspiration

I have been very, very uninspired lately, so I added too my wall in my room. It now looks comme ca:

Brilliant right? THANK YOU, NYLON MAG. <3

wake up, eat & drink/shower, get dressed, school, eat, school, eat, school, be social, eat & drink, homework, eat & drink, tv, eat & drink, sleep.

My life right now: sports, school, sports, shopping, sports, a social life, sports, blogging, sports, and trying to sleep.

One of my favourite (however, expensive for me) stores downtown had a major sale on today. I tried on two pairs of pants (one a strange, dark, Halloweeny crocodile print and one brown, edgy, vertically striped pants, both which were too big unfortunately. And a GORGEOUS floor-length baby pink (who would've guessed a year ago that I'd be wearing a floor length bubblegum baby pink dress and I wouldn't be complaining or look like I was in pain). I had no reason to by the dress though, so I passed.

It's funny how in stores, big and small, I treat the clothing with so much care and respect. I handle them delicately and never let them touch the ground. You wouldn't be able to tell from the floor of my room, which goes (horizontally) comme ca:

clothesmirrorclotheschairclothesbedwithclothesonitclotheswall.
I'm not sure why, but lately I've been dressing very grungey. It's not like it's a bad thing, but it is a thing I've noticed. Maybe because it (usually) requires less effort then other styles, or maybe that's just how I am right now.

Fall Out Boy has been stuck in my head all day. I actually like their lyrics, there's a lot more depth in their lyrics if you look, and I like that. Them and the Black Kids.

OUTFIT: shirt - friend's, hat - h&m, skirt - random/unknown, tights - no nameish brand more random/unknown, ring on necklace - found in my grandmother's old dresser, k on necklace - gift, soccer ball necklace - gift, dove necklace - f21 (hooray cheap jewellery!).

anybody wanna buy an ipod touch? AND I'M GONNA MISS MY SOLENE - MY GRAND POISSON.

Oh feels WEIRD. I haven't posted an actual outfit post in what feels like FOREVER. But I'm here now.

My French Exchange partner, Solene, is leaving today. We take her to the airport in an hour. There were two other French girls (both partners of my friends) and one Swiss boy. I loved them all so much, we had so much fun! All the girls were crying except me...I'm sort of a stone fox (VIRGIN SUICIDES REFERENCE:D) when it comes to things like this - saying goodbye, it's not that I'm not sad or whatever, but I just don't really cry. I think when we go to the airport, however, I'm probably gonna cry. I'm happy I get to go to France in February 2010 though. :)

Anyways, this was yesterday's Thanksgiving dinner outfit (it was this weekend in Canada). We went to my aunt's house, which is GORGEOUS and CUTE and SO PERFECT. She got an iPhone, and I'm obsessed!
If anybody would like to buy a 16GB 2nd generation iPod Touch, pleeeease let me know! My baby is only leik, 2 months old (if that) and she's awesome, I am just looking at an iPhone. :)
My outfit right now is just my volleyball stuff, with sweatpants and a sweater on, because I've got volleyball right after driving to Toronto to drop Solene off at the airport. Not very exciting. It's hard to dress fun all the time when you do sports as much as I do.

This morning, for maybe the first time in 6 months, I straightened my hair. AS I WAS WALKING TO SCHOOL, IT STARTED TO RAIN. THE WORST PART IS IT DIDN'T EVEN RAIN ENOUGH TO MAKE MY HAIR CURLY, JUST ENOUGH SO THAT IT WASN'T REALLY STRAIGHT. Ehh, it's just one of those days.

OUTFIT: plaid shirt - razzle dazzle from winners, tee shirt - delia*s, skirt - h&m, tights - no name type brand thing, shoes - converse, bracelet - mexico, rings - mexico, necklaces - gifts.

you know, a little fyi:

It may feel as though i've fallen off the face of the Earth. Well,
1. I'm camping, in an RV with my family and won't be home 'til Sunday evening.
2. This weekend is Thanksgiving Weekend here in Canada, so I probably won't post on Monday, either, as it is Thanksgiving Monday.
3. Solene, my French exchange partner, is going home Tuesday.
4. I'm so busy I can barely breathe, let alone blog.

:(

I'll return soon, hopefully.

i actually solved a real version of a rubik's cube. okay maybe not, but i swear i was three blocks away, i promise :)

I'm the assistant coach along with one of my favourite teachers for the junior (grades 4 - 6) girls volleyball team, oh my gosh they're sooo cute! Well, most of them. Minus the evil, I DON'T LISTEN I THINK I'M COOLER THEN EVERYONE ones, those are definitely NOT as cute.
Other then that, and Rubiks cubes are awesome, I haven't much to say. I'm super busy, but hopefully tomorrow I'll be more entertaining :)

OUTFIT: shirt - dad's, rings - mexico/gifts, bracelet - unknown, rubiks cube necklace - cube from toys r us on random necklace, skirt - h&m, tights - random

*rubbing eyes, tryyying to stay awake*

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday (I was being social, and living IRL!), so this was yesterday's outfit. I told you it would be inspired from the graffiti picture, and it is, but mainly the colours - which you can't really tell from the pictures :(((. Sometimes I get really, really frustrated because I have soooo many good ideas but I don't have the clothing to make those ideas reality, and I'm trying to save for my exchange to France. Gar money makes us all mad.
Money, and that it's sometimes hard to find a spot for pictures. I've got a pretty tight schedule - LOL I sound ridiculous - and so I don't have a lot of time in general. Well, some days I have a lot of time, some days I've got no time, not even to breathe. But I'm trying to make it work, and I gotta find more spots in my spare time, other then in my messy house. BETTER SPOTS TO COME! :D

I have this thing in which I'll like a dress for a while, then I won't (actually, that's the same with most of my clothes). But for dresses I just use them as skirts, pulling the top inside of it and belting it (sometimes paper bag effect, sometimes a big belt that covers the fold, etc). I did that with this dress, which is incredibly old and sooo not me, unless used as a skirt. INNOVATION FTW.

I had tryouts again this morning, so right now I'm just in a soccer jersey for my favourites, Toronto FC, and camp sweatpants. I'm off for a nap (I know I'm tired because my eyes are randomly crossing themselves if I look at one spot for too long), but hopefully later I'll put together something good.
OUTFIT:
skirt - dress, unknown
shirt - h&m mens
belt - gift
coat - volcom

alliterations are awesome.

I just finished dinner after coming home from my friend's house and it's already 7:30pm. 7:30?!? Where did the day go? Since I don't have any pictures from today (trust me, it wasn't that exciting), here's a few from the ending of August (I think) - not exactly that exciting either. I've had these plaid jeans for a year now, I find it funny that NOW people are wearing plaid a lot. Every says I'm ahead of the time, maybe it's just time is too slow for me?
Oh yeah and, these photos are blurry and strange.. I'm sorrrry! :(
Today was very facepalmy. It's insane how facepalmy today was. In my whole class, only about 3 people had heard of Coco Chanel, and only 1 other person knew who she was! I cannot believe that at ALL. IT'S INSANE. I FEEL BAD FOR THE POOR KIDS!
OUTFIT: shirt - h&m mens shirt, plaid pants - h&m, shoes - unknown

Just, ye know, FYI, the girl on the right is my French exchange partner, she goes home oh Tuesday the 13th... she will have been here for two whole months! Times flies.......
I keep wanting to go shopping and buying stuff I see (in-store and online) but I'm trying to save money because of my trip to France, I'm expecting to spend a lot of money there (in truth). The other problem is there is like, three stores in my entire city I shop at: H&M, and two little resale stores downtown. That's pretty much it. We don't really have vintage stores and our thrifting...well, it's hard to find actual good stuff. But enough complaining.....

This is defintely my outfit inspiration for tomorrow. It was in an alleyway when we went to Kenzington Market in Toronto a few weeks ago, I'm still a bit upset I couldn't find a whole lot there that I loved. Oh well though, at least I had some really amazing tofu vegan sandwich, a onesie, and this photo.

Until tomorrow,
x.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

really, without wind, it would be a lot less cold.

Today was really busy for me, and, in turn, really tiring. I'm rushing through this post because I have to go to the dentist in a few minutes....

The weather is getting pretty cold right now, so I'm thinking about everything I need for winter - a new winter coat and a new pair of (warm!) winter boots. If anyone has found any good websites or stores for either of these, please email me or comment, because I've looked everywhere and so far NADDA.

These are my DIYed jeans, orginially from my trip to New York at Delia*s. I paint splattered them and put the handprints on them. The reason this outfit is so...generic is because I had pictues today. My mom wouldn't let me wear my glasses and she was funny when she saw I chose to wear these jeans. But I guess we all have days of mediocrity.

OUTFIT: jeans - orginally Delia*s but DIYed, scarf - handmade gift, shoes - converse, coat F21

Last night I got bored and was looking at the Nasty Gal website, and everything they have there. I like it ALLL, but these four things are the things I love the MOST from Nasty Gal.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

why do you let me stay here, all by myself? won't you come out and play here? i'm just sitting on the shelf.

Tomorrow is *twitch* PICTURE DAY *twitch*. Whoooooopy doooo. My mom doesn't want me to have my pictures with my glasses (which, for clarification, are not prescription), which makes me sigh. *sighs*.

OUTFIT: dress - F21, shirt - dad's, bracelets - gifts or from mexico, scarf - mexico

Today when I got home from school, I was thinking a lot about summer and winter. Summer, here, because for some reason I have some strange crave to go exploring in the Sahara. Bizzare, I know.

But more often then summer, I was thinking about winter and how SUPER EXCITED I AM FOR IT! Indoor soccer, volleyball, lots of tea and hot chocolate, more freedom in layers and dressing, snow (which is nice for a while, but then gets annoying), COOKIES, pretty colours, and of course, I'm going to France for two months! HDIFJELWTIWFHHWIJF#(UR#IHJFNE(F*@UIJ#P)+Q@ UI# YAY.

OUTFIT: hat - gift, tights - H&M, shirt - razzle dazzle, aparently, pj shorts - old navy (YEAH I WENT THERE).

OH SO EXCITED FOR PARIS FASHION WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! :)

Monday, September 28, 2009

I LOVE THE RAIN, BUT STANDING IN IT FOR 20 MINUTES IN THE MORNING TO LET CARS GO IN A SCHOOL PARKING LOT MAKES YOU SOAKED AND IS RIDICULOUS.... at least it smelt good though.

Unfortunately, I was wet the entire day due to the scenario described in my title. Yeah, not exactly a thing that makes me :).

Something that does make me :)? Red lips. I don't know why. I love red, reddddd lips. Oh and Polariods, but everybody loves Polariods. The camera in my picture is my grandmother's, but it has no film left. If I were to find film, that isn't super expensize, I would probably buy it. ANYBODY GOT SOME POLARIOD FILM TO SPARE? :D

Yesterday my coach said we have a whole 'nother weekend of tryouts, both mornings next weekend at 9am. To 11am. THAT'S FOUR HOURS. I LOVE SOCCER BUT THAT'S FOUR HOURS IN THE NICE EARLY COLD WET MORNING. Actually, I shouldn't be complaining. I really do like it. I was thinking about soccer this morning, hence the soccer jersey being worn today.

I've thought A LOT recently about winter and, for some reason, I'm actually sort of happy and excited for it to come. It makes dressing 849210849023849023894x easier, baking cookies seems more legit, hot chocolate is always good, and snow is okay for a bit.

This is my wall. DUH. Okay, sorry. This is my magazine wall. It's not even close to being finished. Most of the cutouts are from Nylon, because it's just rad, but there's some others from...some other magazines. Unfortunately the only magazine store in my whole city doesn't carry many - if ANY - foreign magazines, and that makes me :(.

OUTFIT:
shirt - soccer jersey
skirt - gift
ring - gift

belt - friend's belt

Saturday, September 26, 2009

i should be looking for my soccer flip flops right now.

I know I said I would try to post yesterday, but, alas, I couldn't get on the computer. Apparently French Exchange teenagers like the computer. Anyways, the football game was meh, I barely actually watched the game, it's more about social stuff here. We had our first tryout for soccer this morning and I'm really happy, the new coach seems really good and I think our team will be good.

This might be my favourite shirt I own. I don't even know anything about Superman (besides the fact that he's super, but that's obviousss), but I love love love this shirt. I wish I bought it a little bigger but oh well.

I feel like Supergirl right now, and I don't know why. Last night I was in a really bad bad baaaad mood (cue MJ) but this morning and right now I feel kind of invinceable. It's supercalifragalicstickexpealadious. Really.

This outfit is actually from August (what? You mean the month that was supposed to be summer but wasn't really? Yeah, that month). I was planning on wearing this to Virgin Fest Toronto (which was AH-MAZE-IN-GG) but for some reason I chickened out. I wish I had have worn it now :(.

OUTFIT:
shirt - D-tox
skirt - folded dress from F21. :S
belt - found it in my room one day, probably a friend's belt

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

in an hour and thirty minutes i have made my life a lot more busy.

I went to 1 of 3 volleyball tryouts and made the Blue (as B, not A) team. I'm pretty proud of myself, but that's winter soccer x2. Oi.

I had to squeeze in a quick post of an outfit from yesterday. It's not my everyday thing but I was bored and sick and felt frilly and VOILA. This dress is actually a skirt, but I never use it as one.

I am now hot and sticky and sweaty and tired, because I had a Meet-The-Teacher thing (which went....awkwardly but good I guess), volleyball tryouts, and then my soccer banquet. NOTE: I WAS ALL EXCITED BECAUSE I THOUGHT I GOT TO DRESS UP FOR THE BANQUET BUT WE JUST WORE OUR JERSEYS AND TRACK SUITS. Let downnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn, oh wells though.

OUTFIT:
skirt as a dress - thrifted
belt - cut old tights
bracelet - gift

Tomorrow, I can almost garuntee, the will probably not be a post. I'm going to two football games at my friend's highschool but there most likely WILL be pictures from the game later.

UNTIL NEXT TIME, MIA LOVIAS.

muhahahaeheheghneghn *coughs sounds*

I stayed home from school today (hence the muhaha) but it was because I was sick (hence the eheheghneghn *coughing sounds*). Not entirely fun, as you can probably imagine.

You know, even pajamas can be sort of fashiony. It's ironic, when you're sick you're supposed to be all UH I'M SICK GET AWAY FROM ME and in a bad mood and stuff, but I'm actually in a good mood, for the most part. I guess that's the colours in the outfit speaking.

sock - D-tox, shorts/pjs - gift, tank top - h&m, shirt - dad's

Today I really, really, really really really really really really really really want to shop. I was watching NylonTV and the Weardrobe conference videos for a while, and then I started thinking about this little store downtown that actually looks pretty good and inexpensive and different, but last time I was is in I had no money to spend with me....

OH YEAH, BY THE WAY, YOHJI AND LUELLA AND CHARLES ANASTASE ARE AMAZING. CUE PHOTOS. I KNOW YOHJI WASN'T PART OF LONDON BUT I FEEL LIKE INCLUDING HIM IN THIS... FIRST LUELLA.

The colours at Luella were TO DIE FOR, and that cute heart-cutout dress was just awesomeeeeee. IF LOVE WERE A RUNWAY SHOW,  I THINK THIS WOULD BE IT.

NEXT CHARLES. What can I say? AMAZING OVERALLS, GARBAGE-BAG-TYPE-GORGEOUS CLOTHES, pretty radddddddd colours. Another winner.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST - ACTUALLY, THE SHOW THAT TAKES GOLD...Y3! YOHJIIIIII. Not only did it have GORGEOUS CLOTHES, GORGEOUS MODELS, AND GORGEOUS COLOURS, IT WAS ALL BASED ON SOCCER. SOCCCCCCCCCCCER. YAYAYAYAYA WIN. Okay done. :)
